Arriving by Car

Coming from the north leave the motorway A5 at the motorway interchange Heidelberg and follow the A656 (from Mannheim) to Heidelberg; turn right at the end of the motorway and go straight on to the main station.

Leave the motorway A5 at the interchange Heidelberg/Schwetzingen if coming from the south and follow B535 to Heidelberg/Leimen. Go straight on the Speyerer Straße into the town. Turn left after passing the Montpellierbrücke (bridge) and follow the Lessingstraße to the main station.

To reach the Max-Planck-Institut für Kernphysik by car, (if coming from the south turn right after passing the Montpellierbrücke) follow the Lessingstraße. At the end turn left on Franz-Knauff-Straße und leave the traffic circle at the third exit onto Rohrbacher Straße. Turn right on Steigerweg and follow it until reaching the institute which is well-signed from then on.

From the main station you reach the Altstadt by car by going straight on the Kurfürstenstraße. At the Römerkreis take the third exit and go straight at the Adenauerplatz, following the Friedrich-Ebert-Anlage throught the Gaisberg-Tunnel. Behind the tunnel you may turn left at the second possibility into the car park P9, Am Theater, (1,50€ p. hour) or follow the left lane and turn left to the Universitätsplatz before the next tunnel, into the car park P11 (1,50€ p. hour).

To arrive at the Haus der Astronomie turn right at first possibility after the Gaisberg-Tunnel, onto Klingenteichstraße. Follow this street and later the signages toward "Königsstuhl". Turn right at the intersection at the Königsstuhl, follow the street a bit before turning right again toward the Haus der Astronomie.
