Welcome to the Women in Physics Conference 2015 in Göttingen!

The 19th German Women in Physics Conference (Deutsche Physikerinnentagung, DPT) took place from October 15.-18., 2015, in Göttingen.

The DPT is an annual conference of the German Physical Society (Deutsche Physikalische Gesellschaft, DPG) and its working group on equal opportunities (Arbeitskreis Chancengleichheit, AKC) with the aim to provide scientific discussions as well as networking opportunities for female physicists of all career stages both in academia and industry.

For the first time this year's conference hosted a special session focusing on the Physics of Light in collaboration with the International Year of Light as declared by the UN-General Assembly.

The organizing committee consists of physicists from different institutes within the Physics Department of the Georg-August-University Göttingen as well as the Max Planck Institute for Solar System Research.
